Commission Junction VS Clickbank

November 18th, 2008

If you have a website or blog and you are looking for a way to monetize it, or a way to make a passive monthly income, then you want to check out ClickBank or Commission Junction, if you haven’t already. They are both affiliate wbsites that allow you sign up and promote a number of different affiliate products to make a ton of cash.  They pay you through check 1 or 2 times a month for all your earnings.

So which one of the two programs are best for you to use on your blog?  There is a big difference in the two affiliate programs, so you had better make sure that you know which one you are going to use to generate the most money out of your website or blog.

If you are running a basic blog that is about something that is mildly popular and you have a decent amount of traffic coming to your blog then you have the requirements for either affiliate.  If you were running a blog about something like internet marketing for newbies then I would suggest using ClickBank to monetize your blog since ClickBank has affiliate products that are e-books, and everyone knows that there are tons of e-books about internet marketing.  So if you were looking for that type of product then you would have no shortage in finding a good one.

If your website is more of a content site and it has reviews of a particular type of product or service, then I would suggest Commission Junction since they have affiliate products that are actual physical products and also they have services that you can advertise as affiliate products.  So you would be better off finding a product or service that matches your website and then adverting that on your content site.

The best way to figure out what works best for your website is to test them both out one at a time and then record your results to see which one performs better over a period of 2 weeks or more.  You should allow atlest 500 visitors to go to your site in order to judge the amount of income you will make over time.

Be sure to research the product that you are promoting and always try to be specific as possible when building  niche site to promote an affiliate product so that it does not look like spam and instead looks like a high quality site with high quality advertisements that are more appealing to click.
