Your Own Business on the Internet?

Without doubt, you have heard that the Internet is the business of the future (or present) and will be unveiled in more than one occasion to find out how to fit the technology. Have you considered the possibility of starting a business on the Web, but still are not sure if this is what you want? Here you’ll find a number of reasons for doing so.

In recent years, the population of Internet users has grown exponentially each month and continues to millions of users entering the network and thousands of businesses that are established on-line. This growing audience combined with the factor that advertising and marketing on the Internet can be a fraction of the cost of traditional methods, place us in a situation where the potential for success on-line is unlimited.  Moreover, growth in the number of personal computers in homes and the emergence of new technologies that allow us to connect to the Internet without a personal computer and to surf the Internet, send and receive email, participate in discussions chat rooms (chat), discussion groups and other resources involved in this environment, have brought the technology to the ordinary user. (Examples: WebTV, iPhone, mobile)

Those days when the use of a computer issue was reserved for persons of high technical expertise, are matters of the past. Today, the computer is an appliance and more use has been simplified so that even children at a very young age could use this household appliance such as any other household.

Moreover, with the amount of resources currently offered on the Internet, there are few areas where it has not moved and very few products or services from which it has no access. We’re not far away from the day that even everything can be done from our own house, because a high percentage of the daily activities are likely to take place here.

Some developed countries are seeing a new phenomenon that every day there are more companies that allow their executives to work from their homes, directly from their own computers, with direct connection to the Internet and intranet. This new phenomenon is beginning to be known as telecommuting.

Undoubtedly, the Internet itself is about to become (or has already) the most powerful marketing since the inception of television. New tools and marketing strategies are constantly introduced and given the technological advances in today’s society, small enterprises tend to become increasingly more powerful. This creates a new scenario in which the high costs associated with the assembly and operation of any enterprise tools are replaced by more economical, effective and comprehensive. Electronic mail, for example, is a good example. Never before had it been possible to contact someone on the other side of the world in just a few seconds at minimal cost.
